hand built wheels

Hi Guys, I am thinking of upgrading my fulcrum 5's and am toying with the idea of getting some hand built wheels. What are your thoughts on hand built wheels, should I bother or just get something like fulcrum 3's or equivalent.

What sort of riding do you do?

In fact, cancel that, whatever riding you do stick with the 5s until they break...

Not doing any racing or anything like that just your normal every day evening rides and weekends.
