Hi there,
I am just looking at upgrading my wheels to a hope pro2 evo/Flow set.
Would i have any problems running them with normal tyres and tubes?
Or would I need to buy more gear?

I like the idea of the tubeless option but if the Flows are too much hassle should i play safe and get mavic 719s?

Yours hopefully,
Si

no problem running tube, i think you need a presta valved tube though...

As for tubeless, just get the rim tape, a valve and sealant and go...

I run the Crests and they are very similar to the Flows. I run both of my with Tubes without any problems

How do the crests hold up?
I was going for the flows for a bit of security due to my clumsiness and the option of using them on future bigger hitting bikes.

No, but if you go for tubeless-ready tyres (e.g. Schwalbe 2011) you may need to replace the Hope cloth tape with NoTubes yellow tape and use a flat tyre lever to mount the tyre. It's not that much hassle once you get used to it.

If you want something a bit more heavy duty than a Crest but lighter than a Flow, the Arch sits in between.
I've recently acquired a set and they can take some serious punishment. I've clattered them and they are still straight and true.
As has been said on here before though, a good quality build will increase strength of a wheel.
Just Riding Along made mine and I can't fault them.
As for tubes. I run with tubes at the moment with no problems. You just have to use Presta because Schraders do not fit.
    Hope that helps.

    Thanks for the advice everyone.
Just ordered a set of hope 2 evos/flows with black rims and spokes from Merlin _ HAPPY DAYS!
Now just need to start riding hard enough to test them . . .
