"Amusing Jerseys" - yes or no?

Foska style jerseys, with amusing pictures and logos/non-brands eg Duff beer, Heinz Beans, Crash Test Dummy, etc.

Are they quietly amusing or sad like a cartoon tie?

It's just a hill. Get over it.

Deep down aren't we all just big kids who enjoy this stuff but don't want to show it?

No worse than Spongebob boxers or furry "Drive me wild" novelty thongs imo

    Jerseys should have the word

    CAMPAGNOLO

in large letters on them and nothing else
  • Cycling in a full Lycra get up can be seen as pretentious and posing....
A bit of humour never hurt anyone =)

Me wearing Lycra of any style is amusing enough!

Funny/novel once upon a time but far too common now.
"Mummy Mummy, when will I grow up?"
"Don't be silly son, you're a bloke, you'll never grow up"
  • I don't see the attraction of cartoon characters but I don't mind the Foska crash test, a-z, I pay road tax jerseys. I'd rather have one of those than a replica team jersey.

Funny the first time - I had one of the first Marmite jerseys, but the joke soon wore thin when you saw the umpteenth person wearing one. Better with something timeless and under-stated IMO.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Like novelty ties. 'Look at me I have a really whacky sense of humour '. Harmless though, if you want one no one's going to be too bothered.

Depends. I like the Marmite one (although not so much that I actually have one) and some of the other Foska ones but broadly I'd agree with APIII, bit too close to novelty ties.

If you get overtaken by someone in a novelty shirt, dont vote in this poll =D

I got destroyed by an aussie on a MTB in the L2B last year and he was bare chested! Had he been wearing a marmite shirt I might have set fire to my bike there and then!

Agree 100%. What a crass word to use. It beggars belief.
  • Wow.. some sensitive people in here... you obviously dont play online games much!!!

Apologies for the poor choice of language. editing now.

Fair do's for editing the word and the apology. I don't think it's being sensitive to find the use of the word as a slang term very inappropriate. And the day we gauge what is and what isn't acceptable by the online games industry, well were doomed. Oh and while your editing, you may want to change Marmite to Vegimite. No Aussie would be seen dead in a Mamite jersey! :) Enjoy the sunshine and happy cycling.

Like novelty ties, in my opinion. You'll look like the Fast Show's Colin Hunt, but nobody will really care.

    Go for it.

I'm intrigued as to what mattward1979 said and I missed, now.

Anyway, I have a Northwave "ribcage" jersey, which I think could be put into the novelty category. I've always found the reaction to it very positive, and have had many "I like your top" comments. I wore my retro Del Tongo-Colnago jersey at last week's TT, and a parent told me her kids were disappointed as they like to cheer for "skeleton man". :D

Besides, if a driver sees the jersey and thinks "what a nobber", at least he's seen you. ;)

Hmmmm, I would never where a novelty tie or pair of socks, but I'm quite happy to wear a Wallace & Gromit jersey! I must be a tw*t.
Where would you be if you fell down a hole?.. Stuck down a hole... in the fog... Stuck down a hole, in the fog, at night... WITH AN OWL!

It's a wonder no one has produced a jersey with the print of a giant vomit stain down the front. And shorts with a pi$$ stain down one leg and a brown streak up the crack (the shorts being for audaxers, of course).

I think they are the cycling equivalent of 'dad dancing'.
