Cycle friendly solicitor?

Hi,

A friend of mine got knocked off her bike commuting this week by a car taking her out as it did a left turn. The police and an ambulance attended, she went to hospital and had stitches to her chin and the bike is damaged. She is now feeling some pain in her ribs.

I think she needs to contact a solicitor to take forward any claim, both for the damage to the bike and personal injury - does anyone have any recommendations for a cycle 'aware' solicitor? She is based in London. I suspect that she's not a member of CTC - is it worth her joining now and then speaking to their legal people?

Any advice gratefully received.

Cheers, Chris

When I got taken down, I went to Russel Jones & Walker, they're the sols that help you if you're a member of the CTC and they do "no win no fee" cases....

Using RJW too. Seem very professional. I was not a CTC member either.

You had a crash with a police woman didn't you? How's that going?

  • Thanks guys. After I posted I saw that RJW were the CTC solicitors so have given my friend their details. Good to know you have both had good experiences (given the circumstances) with them.

I would add Alison France to the list but it seems you've already started the ball rolling.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Yeah's going smoothly, but slowly thanks. Her insurance offered me a grand, but I was still suffering some pain and so I turned it down. I need to get my expenses together and then to see what they come back with.

I was quite impressed that the driver is being forced to go on a driver awareness course by the Met, however.

Yeah my driver was forced to go on a course too but a policewoman being forced to go on a driver awareness course.... Must be a bit humiliating!
