i have a meta 5.5.3 2009
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/commencal/meta-553-2009-mountain-bike-ec017320
and want to put an axle in the rear wheel in order to add some stiffness.
i think the meta accepts 12mm axle, cause when i bought the bike, it also had another set of dropouts with holes.
am i correct? (or does it take 10mm axle?)

IIRC it takes a 12mm Maxel."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

The Meta can take a 10mm, 12mm or Maxle depending on which dropouts are fitted. I didn't think you got Maxle ones with them so it is likely you have 10mm and 12mm.0

these are the extra dropouts that were supplied with the purchase of the bike:
what do you think? 12mm?0 -
no threads then not maxle.
so measure. but if bigger than your current then they will be 12mm."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

i think i'll get this hub:

none.
they are the hub axles not the frame axle.
you need a commy 12mm axle.
so it is a wheel rebuild? dont forget new spokes. or a new wheel?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

i'll just change the hub. the spokes and rim will remain the same!
where do i find a 12mm commencal axle?0 -
Changing hub usually requires changing spokes.0

Yep, you want a 12mm x 135mm axle, might be worth ringing your LBS, I got an aluminium one from Leisure lakes for about £12 a few years ago but i`m not sure they still stock them. I sold it when I upgraded to maxle.
I still have a steel axle which will fit but it weighs a ton so get an alu one. If you intend on upgrading to a maxle you can use one with the standard 12mm drop-outs if you get a suitable bolt to attach to the end.0 -
i think that the front hub that has the bike from the factory (commencal hub) takes an axle.
do you know?0 -

Sorry mate, mine was a custom build from merlin so no idea on the factory wheels. If I had to guess i`d say no. Try commie owners club:
