Sheffield/Barnsley routes

I'm visiting family who live a couple of miles from Junction 37 of the M1 over Easter and am keen to get in some good climbs while up there and am hoping for some route recommendations?
Main goal would be some prolonged climbs (I get plenty of short steep stuff down south) so was thinking of Holme Moss etc but if there are better alternatives please let me know.
Realise that the roads will be busy but I can deal with a bit of traffic if the riding is nice.
Cheers

Bloody hell that's near my parents. So try my old training ride.
Out on the A628 past Penistone to Millhouses. Then right on the B6106 that eventually drops you into Holmfirth. Then follow the A6024 up Holme Moss! You then descend and join the main Manchester road. You can go right and immediately left towards Glossop. Once in Glossop follow the A57 up Snake Pass then on the descent assess how fit you still feel. If you feel up to it, turn left after the little climb from Ladybower to go over the famous 'Strines. This then brings you out at Langsett where you can follow the signs back to Barnsley. Or if you're knackered carry on the A57 into Sheffield and follow signs back to Barnsley.
Either way it's a tough route but beautiful. And you'll also be climbing two of the most famous climbs in BritainExpertly coached by http://www.vitessecyclecoaching.co.uk/

Snake Pass on the bank holiday weekend? I wouldn't.
I'd head through Strines then do some of the climbs around Hathersage.
Something like thisMore problems but still living....0 -
Thanks both. If the weather stays good I may try the snake pass option on saturday late afternoon/early evening in the hope that the traffic is lighter. Will be having a crack at the Froggat loop tomorrow morning.http://www.ledomestiquetours.co.uk
