Shimano DX Shoes with SPD Cleat fitted riding on flats?

As the title suggests, I currently ride with Shimmy DX Shoes and DX Pedals which really compliment each other!

The great thing with the DX shoes is they are flat soled and great on flat pedals. However, has anyone tried running them on flat pedals but with the cleat still fitted? Even though the cleat is well hidden could it still be a bit of a nightmare?

I know it sounds stupid, but I want to be able to switch bikes without either removing the cleats or getting another pair of shoes.

Ta!

I have the AM45 shoes which is the newer black version of the white DX and I have no problem with the SPD cleats on flat pedals. You should be fine. Most grip on flat pedals is on the ridges around the outside and the axle/shaft doesn't affect the shoe or vice versa.

    Wicked, as I thought! Cheers!

The only reservation I had was when you put a lot of pressure on the pedals the sole expanding and exposing the cleat, but it sounds pretty good to me! :)
