head tube length

Does anyone know what the typical or maximum head tube length is for a large frame?

I've just upgraded my forks and want to make sure I leave enough steerer for frame upgrade later. Frame would prob be a large hard tail, 100mm travel. Not sure what to get yet.....

    there is no "standard" length. there are too many variables.
