Does it serve a purpose?

One of mine pinged off and struggled to get it back on...Havent noticed any difference in braking performance, so should it be there or am I ok running without it? :?

it holds the pads in place.

normally there is no need to remove it.

Yep agree nick no need to remove it at all but I was curious and plied it out and then struggled to get it back in so thought I'd ride and see what happpens. Had prob 10 hours riding without it and really cant notice any difference?

They might fall out when you take the wheel out.....I'd get it back in if I were you, takes a bit of bending but it ll go...

If it's the juicy calipers then the pistons have a centre section that goes into a recess in the back of the pads so they shouldn't fall out without the clip. There was a similar thread a while ago and loads of people had been riding without the clip and none had any issues. Disclaimer - that said, it's there for a reason so I'd rather have it there rather than risking it without

Can run juicys without it easily but codes wont work without it, the pads just fall out.

and if the gap between the pad and rotor gets bigger that the pin or the pin gets damaged. bye bye brakes.
