Ebay carbon_bicycle - Delivery times?

Afternoon,

I ordered two bottle cages from the ebay seller "carbon_bicycle" on the 26th of last month and they despatched the next day. As of post this morning they hadn't turned up, other items I had ordered from overseas that day have arrived.

Now I know it's not going to be a two day delivery time (3 would do  ) but I was wondering how long other orders took to come through?

Thanks
Dave

You sure they were dispatched at all? Not by the sounds of it ...

Yeah I emailed them last week asking if they had a tracking number, they said no but they were sent on the 27th and to wait another week.

Emailed them again this morning after the postie had been. Bit disappointing but it's a long journey so could have got lost easily I guess.

Just seems ages to have waited, mind you the post office isn't as good as it was once, that's for certain. Hope you get them soon pal.

Cheers but I dount these are turning up any time soon!

    My message to them earlier

    "Hi,

I have not recieved my bottle cages yet, Can you confirm what address you sent them to please.

I have some holiday coming up at the end of next week and am planning on doing lots of cycling, I really need two bottles. I am happy to pay again for another set to be sent and for you to refund in 28 days if only one set have arrived."

To which I got a reply of

"From my record your payment was completed on the 26-Mar and the item was shipped from HongKong on 29-Mar by regular postal airmail, It should take about 3 ~ 3 1/2 weeks to reach you depending on location. If you still not receive the item in 2~3 days, email me immediately. I will resend or refund to you. Should you have any further question, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your patient and understanding.
    "

So basically fobbing me off for another week.

    Fed up now.

stop crying. i have ordered loads of bits from that part of the world and yes some arrived inside 5 days but other bits have taken upto a month. the royal mail are usually to blame as they hold onto things for long periods for no apparent reason. i had one part turn up after 5 weeks but the postage stamp showed it had been dispatched 5 weeks earlier.

I don't know whether it's the case with this seller, but with another I bought from my item sat with HK postal service for a week or two before it finally shipped. I get the feeling that with some big volume shippers they wait a while to fill a crate destined for a certain country to enable the sender to get a volume shipping discount.

Either that or millions of carbon bottle cages have fallen off a container ship to be washed up somewhere on the Devon coast

Took about a month for my lights to arrive, but they got here in the end.

You'll probably find that Royal Mail are being asked to hold onto some items/shipments by Customs and Excise.

or maybe a veiled method of justifying their £17 "handling charge".

  • I've regularly waited roughly 3 weeks for deliveries from the far east when buying via ebay.
