he's fat.The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.0 -
He's a legend in the making of British Cycling in fact all road cycling history. British. Proud to be British. Focussed and a real talent. Just do not get what seems to be a British Malaise where we love to put down our own.
Cav's a real talented cyclist and exciting to watch.Trek Madone 5.9
Kinesis Crosslight T40 -
Wiggo is a real MOD.
Good portrait though. Seems like a nice enough bloke, I think the people who haven't warmed to him may consider him to be arrogant, for various reasons.0 -
Bit tongue in cheek I thought. He certainly has his haters!! Personally I think he's a formidable talent, a nice guy who ocassionally says something outspoken! After his stage win in Toulouse he stopped to have a word with us on his way back to the team bus, he was still soaking wet at the time and must have been frozen, he could have easily just rode past.
Remember the Lion King, always entertaining. Cycling needs characters not just cardboard corporate cutouts!!0 -

Good PR bullshit.
A couple of times during his first Tour de France he came across as a bit curt and arrogant to the interviewers. No bloody wonder, they have been on a bike for a hundred plus miles at pace sweating in the sun. Then as soon as they get off, knackered, a gaggle of reporter stick mic's in their faces and ask some pedantic question, to get a sound bite they can use out of context.
The teams seem to pickup on this pretty quick, they have a quite chat and tell them to smile and play the game for the sponsors.
He's certainly a charter, it's what a sport needs.0 -

Yeah, cos race reports would be so interesting without quotes from the riders, right?-- Dirk Hofman Motorhomes --0 -
cavendish is well known amongst the peloton to have originally been a bit of a die-hard don't talk to anyone and don't do anyone any favours.
Its why a lot of the europeans don't like him.
However, he has matured in the last season or two.0 -

I never said the reporters didn't do a great job (they are competing too). I'm just seeing through the eye's of knackered cyclist.0 -
Just read his book, nothing wrong with a bit of arrogance if you ask me. He seems commited and focused o what he wants and if he upsets a few prima donnas to get there then never mind, best of british and cant fault his favourite film."BEER" Proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy0
