Snowdon / Rhyd Ddu

Thinking of doing snowdon in the coming weeks. Reading the various downhill routes, Rhyd Ddu sounds a bit dodgy "If you don't like walking along a 6 inch wide track holding on to rocks with one hand and holding your bike over a 350m sheer drop with the other I wouldn't advise you to go this way"

Is it really this bad, anyone got any comments or pics of the said bad bit??
