Hi can anyone help?

I have broken my rear derailleur cage and have purchased a new mech from Chain Reaction Cycles which has a medium length cage when I should have got a long length cage, I can send it back but I wanted a ride tomorrow.

Would it matter if used the medium length?

The bike is a Orange Five with a 10 speed rear and three chain rings, I remember reading an article about cage lengths but cant remember fully what the difference was (apart from the length  ). Maybe something to do with two or three chain rings?

Any advice would be great because I want a ride tomorrow and have a pass from the misses and everything.

Generally, short is for single chainring, med for double and long for triple, however sometimes you can get away with it with the right ratios. But with your setup i'd say no, don't do it.
