Did someone from Canyon start this thread?! It seems to have drummed up more business than a good advertising campaign!

Tempting, but got the paperwork through today for a Scott Addict on a twelve month 0% loan.

Indeed, they had sick deals based on certain indicators like how Lotto was doing on that day's stage. They'd feature different frames at different times. It was a cool idea and 2 buddies got frames for almost no money (we'll a lot off) during the Tdf.

The Aeroroad looked really sweet up the Cauberg on Sunday. If it's good enuf for Philippe....

Jut a few weeks from cash....still trying to decide what frame......this one is drawing me.... Just need to work out sizing. 5 11, with an 81cm inseam, 54 or 56? This is the question!

My Ultimate CF 9.0 is currently on a UPS van on its way to me, very excited! It's taken almost two weeks so far so not super fast but not too long either, that's for a bike which was an 'Express Bike'.

Will let you know how it is when it arrives!

Gutted. Mounted the rear mech and the hanger came away split in two!!!

Emailed asking for a replacement hopefully I won't have to wait long.

Bolted everything else on and weight is a paltry 15.5lb minus chain and rear mech.

SRAM rival build, mavic Kyrisum equipes, Conti gators, FSA SLK bars and post, and arione saddle.

Was hoping to take the bike away with me over Easter but this is not be. :(

    Bugger bugger bugger :)

Mine is an 'express bike' too showing as ready for dispatch

I cant complain really but the weather forecast is marvellous and Im not working the next two long bank holiday weekends (god bless the Queen etc)

On the other hand Ive been looking at bikes for months before deciding on the Canyon and yesterday actually was a long anticipated date in the diary when I expected my luck to change from disastrous of late to good, but you know how it is when you eventually decide to buy.........

On the other hand the longer I ride my current porky bike on its cement rims the faster I will go when I drop to something 2-3kg lighter he he

I too will keep you updated

    Cheers

EDIT: Just been emailed - delivery estimated 2 weeks - damn those long weekends LOL

The only thing putting me off getting a £2000+ bike is insurance.

My home insurance covers my two Specialized bikes, but for no more than £1500.

Splashing out on a £2400 bike could end up being rather costly if it goes 'missing'.

Change to M&S Insurance. Covers you up to £4000 for bikes I think.
  • Aha - the 2 week wait on "express" bikes is to allow time to swap the levers from dodgy Euro configuration and deface it with UK spec reflectives

    Yours impatiently of UK :)

It's worth the wait! The kind folk at Canyon even put clear stickers on to protect the frame so you don't have to!

just ride euro. I'm waiting for this year eurobike and the TDF. After the cervelo/canyon lawsuit there was a deal made, i'm hoping on a new TT frame if its coming it should be at the TDF. Plus will there be a aeroad with campag e record?

does the sponsorship apply to built up bikes or just the frames by themselves?

the only reason i'm slightly considering getting a new bike is that my focus is possibly a bit too small for me, serves me right for being an inexperienced rider buying online

  • Blimey - just had an email from the Fatherland

My bike has been handed over to UPS - on Easter Sunday????

    Stressful few days await

If its here by Thurs = result, 4 day weekend to play with it
If not Im working the weekend after which will be pretty damned frustrating bar a potential mid week night ride which isnt ideal

    Cheers

i was weighing up the Canyon Roadlite 7 but have decided to go down teh LBS route for a few hundred more and get either the CAAD10 105 or the TCR 0 Ultegra works out £200 more all in but i get quite a bit thrown in for free and also free servicing for a year
However i was sorely tempted by the Canyon it looks an amazing bike and the reviews all seem to agree it is an astonishing bike for the money
Enough bikes to open a bike shop but always room for one more...
  • Wow!

It was waiting for me when I got home tonight :)

A few minutes bodging and its ready to go

One thing though - I cant find any carbon paste/lube/grease for the seat post
    Should there be some??

    Cheers!

Life can be soooo cruel. My frame arrived at work today but the gibbons at UPS had lay the box on its side and put something heavy on top so both seatstays are cracked from being crushed. I was litterally shaking with anger when I saw it!

Spoke to Cullan at Canyon and I now have a long wait until tomorrow to see what the Germans will do about it...
