Hi

I am looking for feedback as to the most economical option for wheels

I have a cyclocross for a commuter , now at the moment it has some fulcrum 7 cx wheels they are by their best and need replaced

The bike is mainly for commute , what are peoples opinion on a wheelset they gives best performance for money

I'm not looking to spend alot , any advice or feedback would be appreciated

Ta

I think most people recommend those or Mavic Aksiums.

I've put 8,000 miles on my Model Cs, very happy with them, never had to get them trued despite my frequent pot hole abuse.

I have a campag groupo on it , so I think the planets B are available from the end of the month

The C's only seem to be for shimano but seem a stronger wheel ? Are there similar wheels suitable for a campag system

Just a thought, but do you use your cyclo-cross tyres for the commute, too? If so, you should check whether the rims can take the width of your cross tyre.

I used 30mm Mud 2s on some CXP33s, but I'm not sure wider tyres would be suitable.

Yeah there are cx tyres on it at the moment

What I'm thinking is to put planet x B or mavics on the bike with a 23 tyre and see how that goes ... Plus it shouldn't break the bank

    That's what I did. I used Mavic CXP33s with a 23mm tyre.

Cross tyres aren't great for commuting IME - they're not as tough as a commuting-specific tyre, nor do they have as much grip.

I changed my cx tyres to durano plus (25mm). The commute isnt as smooth but its faster and I dont have to spend time pulling glass out of them and super glueing the cuts in the tyres on a weekend.

Exactly what I did (except I used 23mms). Fortunately, the Kona Jake frameset seems *really* comfortable, so that absorbed much of the harshness in the Duranos. I used the crosser in the winter and ended up carrying the Duranos in the backpack just in case. Ended up using them, too.
