Right then here goes for long........... details :? ... I got a Raceface Diabolus single chain ring with E-Thirteen chain guide and bash ring and i had slight play in the drive side arm so i check it and tightened it up and sorted for while but then restarts. So stripping time, so i take the cranks off and chain guide and BB. The drive side BB did how ever want little tightening but all bearings are still fine etc.
Right here goes NOW i know how to put it all back together again but!... this was the orignal setup and like to know if that was the right set up as to me it didnt seem right, so i proceded to refit to the correct and instructed way from the installation manuals.
The original set was this;
non drive side 0 BB spacer and it had 1x black spindle washer and 3x white spindle washer on it ( washers or spacers what ever want call them)
Drive side had 1x BB spacer then chain guide bracket on then another BB spacer, had 1x red and 1x black spindle spacer on.
is this correct the set up as im thinking one side off BB is more out so would put strain on the bearings am i right ?
My Bottom Bracket is the X type BB at 68mm in length, the spindle length is 123mm from left arm to edge of the splines.
Right then this is what i followed on the instructions;
Non drive side i fitted 1x BB spacer on
Drive side I fitted 1x BB spacer and replaced 1 spacer for the chain guide bracket.
Now this is where im stuck on as no matter where i try to fit the spindle washers, wether i fit 3 spindle spacers on the non drive side and then i need some on other side, as no matter how many i play with to find the chain line i found i need some also on drive side as the chain ring bolts catch the chain guide plates.
What i did is fit the cranks back on with out any spacers to see roughly how many i needed but cant find the right set up as found i need 2 or 3 white spacers on the non drive side and then need some on the drive side? is this ok to do as states really to put washers on non drive side.?
ps will stick some pics up shortly

sounds like the usual RF issues.
device then spacer then BB cup."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

so have you tried it that way? does it give you the crank clearance? i am guessing no.
then new cranks of chain device."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

well not unless i put it all back the way it was but is that right no spacers on left side and one spacer then bracket then another spacer on the right side? is that ok to do as thats how it wasI don't have a bike addiction problem.....bikes seems to have a problem with me.....it just can't seem to stay on.

No one spacer no drive. and 2 spacers on the drive side. (on of which is the device) and that as you have no clearance needs to be by the frame.
On a RF set up you have to have 3 spacers on a 68 BB or you will not load the bearings and will have play. too many and you will not bottom out the crank so the bolt comes lose."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

well ive fitting all back and the cranks or some thing is still creaking but not sure which i can feel it thorugh the arm like some things is creaking, im guessing the BB are shot i hope rather than the crank arms (splines) and yes i have fitting it back properly.
Its not a load creaking either but can just about hear it under the noise of the chain guide.
Please tell me its the BB as im thinking of getting the raceface dh xtype bbs.I don't have a bike addiction problem.....bikes seems to have a problem with me.....it just can't seem to stay on.
