So I've had a pair of steel series headphones with mic for work (nice n easy for skype calls) but alas finally the right phone (cable) has died...

What shall I replace them with? 20-30 pounds I think - anyone had a recent pair of lovely headphones?

Need to be over head ones so I can slip em off (or sit on neck) easy enough to talk to work mates/boss that sort of thing so in ear jobbies not wanted.

Are you looking for headphones or a headset?

I've always liked the Sennheiser PX100s if it's for music.

Consider upping your price-range. Can get some very comfy ones with noise cancellation then.

Sennheiser CX300 II, less than a tenner and are surprisingly good! People have to wave at me to get my attention and I don't even have them turned up.

    Horrendous for running in though.

I prefer the PX200, as they are closed, and the faux leather earpiece creates a seal, which cuts out noise brilliantly. Better bass on them as well.

I've been using the PMX-100 (neckband version of the PX100) for years. They've stopped making them now though so when my latest pair wore out I switched to a pair of Grado iGrado headphones and I'd thoroughly recommend them if you want to consider a neck band set.

A benefit of the PX100 and other open cup headphones in an office environment is that you can hear whats going on in the room and don't need to take them off to hear people. Same goes for when you're on the bike.

    +1

If you need to hear your surroundings the 100s would be better though (had both).
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

Agreed. PX100s are in budget though, whereas the 200s are a tenner over. Both damn good headphones though, and pretty unbeatable at the price point.
