Grease for headset

My bike seems to have decided it wants to be serviced, as the forks need service and now the gears on my middle cog are slipping it looks like i need a new chainrings.. :roll:

My question though is i looking to service the Fork+Headset as i could do them together.

But i trying to find grease which i can use,

i looking at using this stuff for my Fork Coil+Oring/seals within fork, also wondering if this would work for service of the headset bearings?

Would the Finish Line Teflon Grease be fine for the fork service and also the headset?
(trying to not buy 10 different greases if possible )

Big pot of lovely golden WB or general purpose grease from Halfords. About a fiver and lasts 100 years.

ps for your fork you will need fork oil.

I replied to your PM.

The Finishline would be ok most probably, but I like to use what RS recommends here as you know for sure it doesn't have any additives in that may rot seals ie Slick Honey or Judy Butter.

out of interest cool, did their bikehut teflon grease work well on your headset bearings? as i dont fancy having to then buy the finish line stuff for the bearings if the bikehut halfords fails

Pretty much any grease will be fine for bearings. I use Rock N Rol Red Devil. Everyone knows that red makes you faster

I think il use this stuff for fork

Stendec Easy Glide Fork Grease

then depending how crazy high cost my replacement chainrings be, il get some of that Rock N Rol Red Devil stuff for bearings and also Hubs..

Just relised last time i serviced my wheel hubs was.....08 /09 :shock:

I meant for most things I just use standard wheel bearing grease, fine for hubs, headsets etc. Bearings in fact.
