Campag front mech help
I have just had a frame built up with Super Record and the front mech is driving me insane! This is my first 11sp groupset though not my first Campag group by a long way.
My question is simple - how do you set up the front mech properly with no barrel adjuster on the frame? Currently I have set it up according to the manual but it takes 4 clicks to move the mech from the 39 to the 53! I have chain rub accross a lot of the crossed gears not just the extremes that I would expect.
Can someone give me a step by step guide on how to set it up properly without the use of a barrel adjuster?
Many Thanks

From memory of reading a post on the roadbikereview Campagnolo forum, if you set the low limit screw in the correct position with the cable unattached, then loosen it a turn (so the cage moves towards the seat tube). Shift the thumblever until there are no clicks left, attach the cable then tighten the low limit screw the same amount you loosened it above. That should help to add some tension to cable in the absence of adjusters.
If it's 2011 SR, I think Campagnolo's position is that it should take 3 clicks to get to the big ring and there is a further click for trimming in the big/small combination0 -
Brilliant, thank you! Had not thought of doing that and now I have seen it written it makes perfect sense!0

I just tried this myself and realized I'd reversed the instruction about how to get the cable to tighten. You actually need to tighten the lower limit screw half a turn, moving the cage slightly towards the chainrings, then attach the cable then slacken the lower limit half a turn. Sorry for the mistake :oops:0
