i'm looking to convert to a double ring setup on my hardtail(xc race style) i originally wanted to keep my 44t but in the middle ring position there isn't the clearance. is there much difference in diameter between 44t/42t/40t, 40t seems to be the favoured size i don't know whether to just fit a 40 and maybe a 29 or 27?

any advice would be appreciated.....cheers......alex

what ever feels right for you.

be aware that not all sizes are available to fit on every BCD. smallest 104mm 4 bolt middle is 32T and biggest 64mm 4 bolt is 28T
