I think they've been trying to pin him down to accept that award for some time. Unfortunately he has been busy enjoying freedoms elsewhere.
Can't wait to see him in action at the forthcoming big tours. I know the rest of the field piled up behind him in the Schelderprijs but that burst of acceleration looked impressive.
I sincerely hope this year's stage races turn out to be as thrilling as the classics have.0 -
Yes, I did read that there was a bit of resentment in Douglas that he didn't immediately fly over and accept his award.
Felt so sorry for his parents though- one son a soar-a-way success and the other son sitting a few miles away in gaol.0 -
I think it's something that will mean more to him when he's knocking on a bit. I doubt it will ever sit in front of the MSR or Champs stage trophies though.0
