the door was secured and a metal plate put on it, as they dont have elec from mains up their and they cant leave the genny on all night there is no alarm or security lights!

last night the little c units broke in through the wooden structure and opened the doors stealling a £3k generator and a Quad Bike!

    Bad times my friend! I hate theft of any kind :( Not sure whether a loaded shotgun is the best idea...perhaps an unloaded one just in case?)

    get a big fookin dog and leave him loose in the yard....a 'security' friend of mine once told me that a dog is more reliable than any type of alarm system

    flipping nightmre, i hate thieves.

    hopefully the insurance will pay out or maybe even at an utter push, the police might be able to catch the feckers.

    Advice:

    Shotgun = premeditated, not good.
    Spade/pickaxe/axe/fork that was left lying around and picked up and used in a fit of rage = much more plausable... :wink:

    Oh and get a dog. A big dog that barks lots.

    Insurance = check
    Dog = check (it was fed drugged meat when they broke in last time)
    Shotgun = already owned for pest control purposes
    Alarm = not a possibility as there is no mains fed electricity - hence the generator

    i know it seems extreme but how about some sort of motion sensor that sets off an alarm in the house? there's got to be some sort of solar powered one available :?

    solar powered alarm:

    going to have a look into the solar thing and go from there
  • Have it battery charged...

    generator charges battery during the day... battery feeds the sensor during the night.

    Establish the land around the stables as a popular dogging hotspot. It'll be so busy with middle-aged exhibitionists and the police that there'll be no more burglars.

    it's probably welsh gyspies that did it. Just dot a few blue eyed midgets about the place. job done.

    Put the jenny in a hole in the ground so that they would need a truck and hiab to get it out? And use geese instead of dogs, harder to drug, harder to kill and at least 125 times more aggressive than a labradoodle. Plus you can always eat the ones that haven't already sacrificed their lives to save your property as punishment.

    Pay Gary Glitter to hide in the stables with "Wanna be in my gang" playing on continuous repeat.

    Put up signs saying anyone who enters may be forced to sit on uncle Gary's 'knee'.

    I don't know why so many of you are being sensible!

    he's really great come Xmas time as santa - he has a treat for all the children in his sack.
  • Dude really sucks to hear about the story man. Did they have any insurance on their property?

    Hope all works out dude, most likely the same people doing it over and over again!

    As far as advice what to do, maybe consider actually getting mains put in up to there, and installing a foghorn or something. or spot lights with an alarm linked to the house.
