Lots of Lucozade, bad?

So at uni there is an offer 2 for £1.20, anyway I needed a drink, so I swiftly drank the 2 bottles of Orange Lucozade 380ml, and was shocked to discover I've had 108g of sugar in the space of 30 mins.

What would the likely effects be? Would my performance on the bike be reduced? I'm supposed to be TT'ing tonight but I'm sure this Lucozade is putting me to sleep.

Do I need to counter it with carbs? I know I won't be having the Lucozade again, since I've started drinking this stuff regular my bottom teeth has gone yellow and black.

  • I used to drink bottles of that stuff in a night when I used to go raving and misbehaving, never did anything negative too me, kept me going ALL NIGHT LONG in fact, and I don't just mean on the dancefloor.

What do you think sugar is?
    More problems but still living....
  • Sugar is high glycemic (sp?) so that's probably why you're feeling tired now, blood sugars reduced.

Get some slow-release carbs (wholemeal bread/pasta etc.) in before your TT and you'll be fine. Things like Lucozade okay as recovery or mid-ride, but not before.

More than a handful is a waste, which I would imagine is what you would have been thinking about when you were "educating" yourself reading the Daily Sport?

Hey Jim! You're slow on the uptake aren't you hun. Why would I want to pretend to be back with TheAddict?

I have friends on here. Nice to be able to have a laugh an all that.

Pray do tell though, I've got the popcorn if you have the time.

Did someone mention Popcorn ??? :D
Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

Beat me to it (utterly surreal drift btw DD best yet). Can't agree strongly enough with this, teeth go yellow and black via systematic neglect of hygeine, you'll only speed it up with microwave mars bars and lucozade sugar water. If they're really that bad get yerself to a dentist quickly (yes. I know it costs money and you a poor student) hopefully before you've done yourself serious tooth & gum damage.

If a bike got that corroded you'd replace it.

I think NHS dentists are free for full time students. I'm sure I never paid when I was at uni.

Also, just because they're 2 for £1.20 doesn't mean you have to buy 2!

You do make some odd posts....
