Worn Paint Or Possible Crack

While the front wheel was off and my brother was cleaning his bike he noticed what looks like a crack along the edge of the arch on the fork, looking closely it looks like it's just the paint worn and I have run my nail across it and my nail did not catch.
Any way here is a thumb nail to the picture. I haven't made the picture smaller so it is easier to see.
What do you guys reckon? It's the same on the other side of the arch but the rest seems ok.
The forks are two and a half years old and have been ridden through every thing the British weather has thrown at them.

Looks like a casting artifact, especially if the other side is identical.0

that to me looks like the flashing resulting from casting the fork were the two halves of the mould met.
To have the bridge crack lke that would be most unusual.
Nothing to worry about.0
