Today I bought a 2011 10spd Centaur cassette from an Online retailer for £40.80. After a quick online search the highest I found the same item to be was over £88.00.
I wonder how much I could have paid and how can there be such a MASSIVE difference in price?

  • I had the most depressing experience when Planet X was selling a 6700 series brakeset for 30 quid...now one brake costs 69.99....

Some of the big online dealers buy direct from Campagnolo and purchase OEM kits or groupsets which come bulk-packed for fitment onto bikes - they then split and sell as individual parts. Others are buying the same product 'boxed' in small quantities through the official distributor and charge retail, or even retail plus. It's the same product, just lacking the fancy box and instructions.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
