Eastbourne Cycling Festival 21-22nd May

The EASTBOURNE CRITERIUM for 4th category riders is being held over the exciting closed road circuit centred on King Edward's Parade and South Cliff, and starting/finishing in front of the Grand Hotel, providing fantastic viewing points for spectators. A fast descent, technical turns and a short lung busting climb will test the riders on each lap.
The EASTBOURNE GRAND PRIX ROAD RACE will feature ten fast laps of the closed road circuit before the riders depart over the infamous Beachy Head which includes the climb up Dukes Drive, a fast descent into East Dean followed by the twisty ascent to the summit of Beachy Head. After two tortuous laps a fast descent back down Dukes Drive with a finish in front of the crowds on King Edwards parade. A challenge for 3rd category male, female and junior riders alike.
The time trials will be held over the closed road circuit with a target time set for the course for all comers to try and beat.
Races timings (approximate) are as follows:
Sunday at 11.30am - The SOUTH EAST REGIONAL YOUTH ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIPS promoted by Eastbourne Pedal Power Youth Cycling and sponsored by The Tri Store (Closed Road Circuit)
Sunday at 1pm - Come & Try It - Time Trial event for all comers with Eastbourne Rovers CC and sponsored by (to be announced) (Closed Road Circuit)
Sunday at 2.30pm - THE EASTBOURNE CRITERIUM ROAD RACE promoted by Eastbourne Pedal Power Youth Cycling and sponsored by The Tri Store - 1hour + 5 laps (Closed Road Circuit)
Sunday at 4.30pm - THE EASTBOURNE GRAND PRIX ROAD RACE - a 3RD, PLUS WOMEN & JUNIORS Category Road Race promoted by Eastbourne Pedal Power Youth Cycling and sponsored by The Tri Store over the Closed Road & Beachy Head circuit.
Go-Ride aged category races will be held over the closed road circuit while the Grand Prix is out on the highway.
