Shimano BB86 Press Fit Bottom Bracket
Hello
Had to change the bottom bracket on my road bike recently due to water ingress into the bearings. The sealing arrangement is very poor on Shimano BBs IMO. I have also had to change two on my mountain bike. Same arrangement but it's called BB91 on my mountain bike.
Does anyone know of an alternative press BB I could use? Don't want to change the crankset just the BB. Not sure if the FSA BB86 is compatible. I've seen KCNC BBs on the web but the guy in the shop wasn't sure they'd fit.
Anyone help????
Thanks

unfortunately I think you can on use the BB91 on specialized frames (assuming this is what it is) for use with 24mm axles..
What cranks are they?0 -

Hello
Road bike is a Cube Agree GTC Race and MTB is a Trek Fuel Ex9.
Both with Shimano 24mm cranks.
Had failed BB bearings on both due to water. Understandable to an extent with the MTB because I've been out in all weathers, but the road bike!! Not seen so much as a drop of rain.0 -
