After cancelling my order at Wiggle (bike too big :() I've been looking over the other bikes in that price range. Nothing really grabs me...

The few that look best regarding spec are:

Cannondale CAAD 8 Compact Double (23c tyres)

Cannondale CAAD 8 Tiagra Triple (triple kinda bothers me a bit)

Cannondale Synapse Tiagra (25c tyres)

Fuji Team 2.0 2011 Road Bike

I'm looking for input here, I'm also wondering what the major differences are between the 2 cannondales.

Any help is greatly appreciated, I really want to be out there right now, the weathers been great here. I just can't seem to make my mind up.

I'm 5'8", 29/30" inner leg, should I be going for a 54cm frame?

Cheers

    Try 'em out.

Nowadays it's tough to buy a bad bike.

They all look OK to me.
  • I bought a 2011 Scott Speedster S30 for around that price. Nice bike - althought it is my first and I would be bias!! If it were my money, I'd look for a 2010 model.... Better VFM

Edit: Yeah, I'd also look for 2010 models.

Looks like I'll be going for a Cube Peloton:

Great components, decent price... plus I love Cube bikes and have a dealer nearby.

Seconds on the Cube - I have a 2010 Cube Aerial, sourced from CRC at under £600 - probably the best bike for your bucks in that range - only Shimano Tiagra & Sora generally but it all performs well and such a fantastic ride - carbon fork - all I've changed is the saddle for a Fizik Arione but at that price you can justify it.

Yep, gonna get fitted / pick it up tomorrow all being well.

It's amazing how much these manufacturers are asking nowadays, a year ago I almost bought a Spec Allez Sport with full tiagra for £599, now you're lucky if you get Sora at that price.

    Very excited :D
