Even though its derived from "Hamelamesede", being a mix of "Haemele" - a name, and "hamstede" - homestead, so basically a large agricultural area belonging to the Haemele family.
Granted, the idea of it being named after a marijuana farm (due to the "hemp" part) sounds lots more fun!0
