a loofah was a type of sponge from under the ocean....

At the ripe old age od 62 I learn it is a vegetable

The missus brought one home, she said a little green cucumber did not satisfy her

Never to old to learn

That article is pretty confusing.....its a fruit whilst growing but then if you eat it it's a vegetable?

I recently discovered that the Pineapple doesn't grow on trees - it grows close to the ground.

    Never too old to learn.

If you visit the 'Lost Gardens of Heligan' you can see the Pineapple Pit where the Victorians used to grow them - surrounded by 15 tons of rotting horse manure!

No way! I blame Black Lace for this misconception of mine. The line 'push pineapple, shake the tree' has linked the two items together. Yet another reason to hate Black Lace.

No matter how I try to unravel this sentence, I get a deep sense of unease.

Even though its derived from "Hamelamesede", being a mix of "Haemele" - a name, and "hamstede" - homestead, so basically a large agricultural area belonging to the Haemele family.

Granted, the idea of it being named after a marijuana farm (due to the "hemp" part) sounds lots more fun!
