  • No, i don't race and to be honest but starting to think about it. It was the second sportive that i have ever done. I was happy with my time, but i put it down to managing to keep getting in good groups with some good riders ;)

Where you from? I live in harrogate but my parents live in huddersfield so ride that wayy somethimes. My mail adress is jamielaramee@googlemail.com, drop me a mail if you ever fancy a ride over this way or Hudderfield way sometime, or if there any more etapes you are riding etc.

I rode a good portion of this route about 2 weeks before the actual Etape...I can confirm it is VERY difficult..that Coal road is something else! I've done Hardknott & Wrynose, and I would truthfully put it in the same category as those two. The drag up to Tan Hill as mentioned is one long continuous grind that goes on for a L O N G time, we had a 25mph headwind all the way round that mysteriously never favoured us!!! The route we used also took in Buttertubs...into a savage wind...not for the faint hearted, just thank the lord once at the bottom, the run back to our digs in Reith was mostly flattish..Flattish being the operative word..it is the Dales/Yorkshire, there are hills everywhere!!
