Shimano hydraulics lost their bite

Over the last couple of weeks the brakes on my charge mixer have stopped stopping as well as they did.
I'm new to hydraulics, only thing I've read is that I could bleed the system.. but I've only had the bike a few months, seems a bit premature.
Bit of guidance would be most appreciated!
