Having just cycled home through Hackney they really should build a wall round it and turn it in to a prison. Hideous drivers screaming abuse at everything, hideous pedestrians walking in to the road and getting annoyed you dare to be using it, hideous rubbish strewn gutters.

And to think I used to live there!

It's funny: although I only live a few miles away from Hackney, life has never forced me to cycle through there - I think I've been as close as Clapton, Seven Sisters Road, and up along the Lee valley past Hackney Downs. But if I ever find myself having to go to that Hackney, I'll bear your warning in mind.
