Poor/broken nights sleep!

As above, over the past few weeks, I have started having broken sleep, nothing too bad, but just waking up now and again throughout the night.
Last night it was awful, every 2 hours or so, waking up, then waking up earlier than usual...
Looking for some input if anyone knows where this could be coming from, as I have not changed diet or sleep patterns during this time. Infart, nothing has changed at all, so cant understand why it is happening, but today at work has been a real struggle.
Just to add, I usually aim to get 8 hours a night in, tend not to oversleep on weekends as well.
Any help on this would be great guys.

Anything causing stress or worry? I also had a terrible nights sleep last night through a combination of regularly waking up from a weird dream in which I didn't know who I was and with a nasty cough and sore throat that came from nowhere just as I went to bed. Maybe it is the infart you talked about causing problems - that can't be comfortable0

Change in weather/temperature? Stress...could be anything.
Maybe a good hot bath before bed and no TV for a couple of hours could help?
It's a horrible thing and is self perpetuating sometimes, if it continues....see a doc before there are side affects.0 -
Nothing causing stress really, job will always cause stress due to the workload & targets, but I have done the same for a long time.
Really cant put my finger on it.0 -

Theres your answer right there mate, you're blowing off in your sleep. The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.0 -
The amount of typos im making today should be evidence enough of how tired I am!0
-
I have had the same problem in the past and found that not drinking tea or coffee after 7pm has gone a long way to help,
having said that, last night I slept absolutely cr@p and having just done my longest ride in a half respectable time I thought I was going to sleep very well0 -
See, I don't have any form of caffeine after 3pm, as I like to be able to get off to sleep quickly. I am hoping it is a short term thing, but now its getting on a few weeks, I have a feeling there may be and underlying cause.
As to what it is though I'm stumped....0 -
Try vodka.
It works for me...
Love n hugs

perhaps it's just the pure excitement, anticipation and intrepidation of work the next morning, as I said I have the some problem only it's anxiety, loathing and dread0

If you have upped your training after the winter 'break' your body will be adjusting to it, sometimes you can feel as tho you are really tired after a hard days training/work just to find that you can't get to sleep, it's all down to your metobolism, given time you should adapt back to normal.0

Stress! Take a holiday, not just time off work but a holiday. I'm suffering the same as the OP, gonna do just that soon enough.0
-
Could be the weather, if your bedroom is only a few degrees higher than normal in addition to your duvet it can warm your body too much to sleep comfortable till your used to it again.
A few nights this week i've had to open the window and sleep with it open to cool the room down0 -

I have been told this by a few people, I have a very stressful job, but no more than I am used too. I do have a holiday planned, but this in back end of June.0 -
A national disease, there has been a 40% increase in the last 2 years in the consumption of anti-depressants. We are fast catching up the USA in pill popping.
Here's the answer, an email I received earlier....

I'm now worrying about who will fill the 7 million odd jobs that have been created and which there is no-one to fill. Added to that my workload is going to go through the roof as we will have to keep up with all the infrastructure design work that is going to come from all the millions of new homes that will be built and the spiralling costs that supply and demand will bring meaning I need to somehow find money for my kids to live somewhere. How am I going to sleep tonight? Thanks a lot :x0

Ron, was that a reply or an attempt to start a new topic?!?!!?
I thought it was quite funny and with a simple minded nation could work, then I got past about point 3 and it all went downhill0 -

Chill, it was an email to me, not my handy work.
Treat it like life enjoy the bits you like and ignore the rest, be a survivor, don't cry
You know it's a philosophy that might just help the pour chap get a bit more rest
You say...."simple minded nation could work"..... news, were more than half way there mate :roll:0 -
Worst nights sleep in a long time - thanks Squill, you've cursed me"That's it! You people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college! " - Homer0

sounds exactly my situtation...rusbbish / short / not deep sleep every night...wake up early and feel sh*te for the whole next day !
Doc couldn't really suggest anything; tho the sleep tablets he gave me are fantastic (no "hangover" the next day) their only sposed to knock the body back into proper sleep patterns (bodies like rourteens !) only problem is mine kicks that out after a week so am back to square one.
Few things that help he; dont eat large meals late (drink but not so much that you need the loo in the night!) tho don't go to bed on an empty stomache as that will keep you awake as well, turn commuter off and try to relax well (hour or so) before sleep (my brain doesn't like to switch off), try reading as it takes your mind off stuff, make sure the temp in the rooms not to hot, turn off lights (just one reading lamp is enough), get a comforatble / large pillow (memory map ones are good but not cheap!), black out curtains work wonders to stop light getting in (which wakes me up!) so maybe worth a try. Most of all try to relax...although trying to hard will get you stressed and you wont be able to sleep!...catch 22 !
Let me know if you find out some magical cure tho0 -

If you have a tele and a dvd/video box in the bedroom try watching any TDF between 1999 and 2005, that should do it. :shock:0 -
Get yourself a Yoga book, and do some half an hour before bed.
I only do some of the basic yoga stuff, some poses are mildly strenuous on muscles I don't normally use day to day. After Yoga it gives me that warm, fuzzy, tired feeling like I will fall asleep the second my head touches the pillow.
It may help relieve tension that you may not notice you have.
Plan b tension relief, would be to polish the lighthouse. :oops:Plymouthsteve for councillor!!0
