Which Hubs?

Should I stick with the no-names that came with my Boardman HT Pro or swap them out to some Deore M525s I have in the garage?

Nothing yet but I'm about to replace my rear rim which is buckled and was wondering wether I should replace the "no-name" stock hubs from my boardman with the new Deore ones I have laying aroundRockin': Specialized Rockhopper 2008

You can't just change hubs - you need to unbuild the wheels, and will need new spokes.0

Sorry, I misunderstood you - I wasn't sure exactly what you were doing ie just changing a whole wheel, or rebuilding, or thinking it you could just swap the hubs like dozens of people do who post on here. No need for the sarcastic comments, just trying to clarify things.0

No sarcastic comment was made; I thought you had a snazzy trick to avoid de-build/re-build!
To be fair however; I don't think I've had a single reply to any of my questions from this board that wasn't sarcastic, blunt, unhelpful or down right rude
Any chance of some feedback on my initial question please anyone?Rockin': Specialized Rockhopper 2008

Report 'em, I'll bash them with my ban stick ;-) Inlcuding myself lol.
The Boardman hubs are pretty good, have sealed cartridge bearings and seem to be fairly light. The Deores are porkers lol. Sturdy and dependable, but will require those loose ball bearings to be serviced regularly. I think I'd stick with what you have to be honest.
Talking about building tricks, we used to have one... if the hub was to be kept, and the rim was exactly the same, we would tape the new rim to the old one. Loosen the spokes off, then one by one push them into the new rim. No need to unlace and relace, everything where it should be. Then tension/dish/true etc. You can actually keep the old spokes if they are the right size.0 -
lol
Ok, I'll sell them on me thinks and stay with the Boardmans
Regards the tip...that sounds like a plan (me being a lazy bar-steward) I'll give it a whril.
Thanks
