London Marathon - spectating by bike

My wife is running the london marathon, and my two sons and I were planning to use bikes to leap ahead a few miles to see her.
We thought we should be able to lock the bikes up as we get close to the course and give her a wave, and then repeat.
Anybody done anything like this and got any pointers ?, we have substantial locks, flat pedals and our own supplies.
We have yet to study the route in detail, to see what is possible, Isle of Dogs looks tricky - its hard to see exactly which roads are closed, and what is going to be open.
Obviously the final stretch and london bridge are busy, but from watching it on the tv it looks like there are plenty of places where its not 5 deep.
cheers

After all, your system actually works (whereas ours, with our mandatory helmet laws, and low numbers of bikes and docks, is flagging).Commute - MASI Souville3 | Road/CX - MASI Speciale CX | Family - 80s ugly | Utility - Cargobike0
