This is a pic of my other bike.

Basically, I'm putting a disc brake on my new bike but on closer inspection I think this is required for disk brakes?

When I look at full disk brakes, they don't include this part, so is it needed? where do I get it?

I'm talking about the part with green.

It's a disc brake adapter. They're needed for practially all sizes of disk.

    brake adapter.

but most brake kits include the required adapters.

Forks are (generally) 160mm standard. So, if your calliper is a post mount, and your fork is a post mount, you should, with very few exceptions, be able to fit a 160mm disc and not need an adapter at all.

I was expecting them to include it too, but the two I'm looking at only include the following

    #1
    Supplied with disc pads fitted
    ISO Mount Front Brake calliper
    Calliper mounting bolts
    Disc mounting bolts
    Supplied with fitting instructions.
You will receive one rotor and one caliper

    #2
    # ARTEK BLACK ALLOY CALIPER
    # COMPLEAT WITH PADS
    # DISC 160MM 6 HOLE WITH SCREWS

How do I check if it's a post mount on each of them?

Man I feel nooby right now.

    edit:

That's not a post mount, that's an IS mount.
