Hi,
To cut a long story short, i have just slide down the road on my elbow/face/rear mech. Now it wont change gears properly, and when i go towards the big cog on the cassette the mech starts to clip the spokes.
Now im not really sure what to look for but is this a retrievable situation or am i looking at a new rear mech?
Bike is a Boardman Comp with 9 speed SRAM X7 rear mech.
Cheers for any help.
Rob.

Sounds like you've bent the mech hanger or the mech itself.
Have a closer look and see if you can spot which one it is.0 -
Cheers for the quick response guys. Are both fixable - can they be bent back into shape?
Also i better ask - is the hanger the silver bit that connects the mech to the frame?

Yes the hanger is the silver bit that connects the mech to the frame and the hanger is fixable, take it to your LBS and they should probably have the tool for straightening it.0
