First 10k run

We have just had the Chernobyl Memorial races in Slavutich, a 5k, 10k and a half marathon, I completed the 10k in 1hr 2minutes 23 seconds, I am now knackered not being the slimmest of chaps. The races are part of the memorial for those who died in the accident, about fifty people locally, it was a privilege to take part, there are people in their 70s competing including people who were working at the plant during the accident and those involved with the clean up afterwards.

    bet there were a lot of people with three legs.

    I do a bit of running and its amazing the variety who turn out. I did a half marathon and there was a fella the spiiting image of jimmy saville who did the race in a tatty pair of old school plimsols.

    well run anyway.
