I currently have an oversize easton bar on and a 100mm stem, i have a brand new raceface 25.1mm bar and a 70mm stem. Im wanting a shorter stem so was going to be putting the race face riser and stem on, i go around some pretty tough terrain at time and off drops and small jumps,

would the oversize gear be better than the raceface 25.1mm gear?

i hoping the more experienced guys can enlighten me if theres much difference in strenght and use etc.

cheers
scott

    25.4mm I take it

Some people cannot feel any stiffness difference like for like. I'll I can suggest is to fit it an try them out. Barseep, rise and width will change feel too.

    sorry, yup its the 25.4mm

im not really wanting to fit it if its best to sell it on since they are brand new, however i might just have to, i should probably of opened this on the buyers page then i could ask for oppinions on bars and stems to buy
  • Just try it, I never feel any difference between the 2 sizes, and lots of bars for dirt jumping are 25.4, so I see no problem.

I read something a while ago from a bar manufacturer that claimed the oversize thing was just a fashion issue.
I've run a standard sized raceface bar on my old bike for over a decade, and it was on another bike before that. Not a problem.
