Afan routes

I'm off to Afan this weekend with a friend who hasn't been on a bike for a while.
I was thinking that Whites Level would be a good start but not sure he would manage another full lap or W2 but was thinking there must be a way we could do a second, shorter route or even try a second full route but bail if either of us gets too tired to finish the climb. Could we ride part way up the Whites level climb then take a detour part way up to get on a descent?

No way off the whites climb as far as I'm aware, once you start then that's it until the top. Might be better starting at afan and doing the wall climb and making your way over the top. If he gets tired then it's easier to get off the top at the end of energy by going down a fireroad and that takes you to the low level cycleway.Orange P7 2007

Yup,
You can clim up whites, half way up where the trail comes back round 180 to the left, you will see the skyline decent thats a 6k loop, and if you get all the way up you can turn right ride about a k then do the skyline decent fromt he top, about 10k looop.
Hope that helps.0 -
Thanks for that, I thought there was a way to get on the skyline descent, I think I will go for thatTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
