Hi,
I am doing the Dartmoor Classic (106 miles) in June and this weekend I am riding from Cornwall to Ascot, Berkshire. 190 miles in total.
The Dartmoor Classic is my first sportive.
What I was wondering is how would you break the sportive up for rests, or are you expected to go straight on with no breaks. The sections are timed so does the clock stop if you are on a break between sections?
Please help

you can take as long as you like to ride it - but the clock starts when you start, and stops when you complete the distance.0

Squigs - there will be feed stations en route where you can stock up on fluids and food. The clock keeps running whilst you make your pit stop but you can take as long as you want for a stop. A sportive is you against the clock and not a race. No prizes for first over the line.
I'm riding the same route at the the DC. It will be my 2nd sportive. Doing the Cornwall Tor tomorrow - 73 mile route.
Best of luck0 -
My approach is only stop at feed stops.http://twitter.com/mgalex
