went through most of the list and cant see any special tools needed beside an allan key?
Is this the only thing I need, also keeping the shimano XT BB so that wont be removed.
Is this right?0 -
you need the tool to do the pre load nut on the cranks0

Sorry to be a pain, but do you know what it looks like>?
Sorry this is my first attempt and cannot see on google when I type in m770 crank removal tool.
Thanks so much0 -
Is this it to remove the crank only ?

To remove the cap on the left XT crank arm you need a tool that looks like this -

So an allan key and butter knife it is.

OK Got cranks on, but there is a 1mm gap on the drive side and the other, do I need spacers, or is this right? I have not removed the BB, so the the spacers go on the outside of the BB, or is there supoposed to be a small gap?
Thanks0 -
Presuming that the old BB was fitted correctly.
you have not tightened up the bolt enough."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

3 Spacer came with the raceface, so do I need to take the bb off and fit more spacers?
Only 1 spacer on the Shimano BB, and done the bolt up tight as I can
Thanks Nick0 -
Cant get this BB off for the life of me, its welded on.0

what width is the BB shell?
read the link I posted at top. and make sure you have it assembled correctly."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Its all good nick no spaces after I fitted the 3 spacer and went in nice and tight, everything seems to be lining up.
Now for the pedals, chain and cassette and I will be done, FEW !!
2 Spacers went on the drive side and 1 on the other, seems ok.
Should I tighten the arm as tight as I can? as it says I cant overload it0 -
Does it not come with ANY instructions?0
