nothing wrong with putting your bike on a Ryan air flight. Shipping your bike separately will be a 3 figure sum one way."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Not on Ryanair, but yes. Just turned up with the bike, deflated the tyres and they stuck a label on it. But I'm sure a bike box would be safer.I don't do smileys.

I've loaded and unloaded a few carriers and take it from me those guys aren't gentle with the stuff in the back of there trucks. Won't mention any names (but the trucks are orange), nothing in the back is strapped down. You might as well take your chances with Ryanair.0 -

so just make sure it's padded out so well it can't be damaged then and it should be okay.0 -
I looked at the whole shipping option when bringing my bike back from Canada and the option of shipping it DHL/UPS was scarily expensive. there were companies who bought space on commerical flights and would ship your bike for you but in the end it'll be easier just to throw it in a bike box and take it on the plane. You can also cram shoes, helmet, spare parts and other stuff into the box for padding.
not sure if Ryanair charge an additional surplus for carrying bikes (on top of the sporting goods charge) but if you are keen to avoid it, search out the video on how to pack a bike into a hockey bag that is on pinkbike somewhere - take it to the desk and just say its 'sporting equipment' nice and vague like0
