  • Speedy recovery to friend!

    Morning all,

Got deaded out while riding with my mrs to work super early today, and had to cancel my ride for today out of lack of interest. He wanted to do the same, and called me before I called him and wanted to wait till tomorrow for a bigger ride with about 7 other people. Sounds like a win, so i'm cheerful. Lack of work today has made it so I can just chill and relax, maybe got do a bit of shopping but who knows.

    Cheery mood.

    Peace

    word to your mother!

its friday day andi feel like some bacons! (minght even sneak a suasage and has brown in there too, i wonder if she'll notice!

DD - hope the friends alreet, bruised collar bone, nice, was that hitting a tree by any chance!?

rode in today on the soft steed, forgot to do up the new rear wheel before setting off, the skewer was just closed loosely. Accelerating around a rounabout and everything goes very sideways feeling - wheel came out of the dropouts! i have a particular shade of brown in my trooosers this mornin'!!

working till 4pm, which isnt like me but needs must, and then viewing a house at 5 for the potential move-in-with-the-mrs-to-be. On that front things are all good, she took me out for vin du pap last night!

this evening has the potential for a ride, but my hand is still hurting and i am not sure it can cope with the bars shuddering as i thunder through the forrest! I mean after the skewer incident thisa morning i decided the stairs was the fastest in to work, the shooting pain every time the front wheel went down another step, ow!!

Lambing contiunes today, day 8 at the farm, the past 2 days the sheep have been striking and we've had about 4 or 5 lamb. Hopefully this will change today.

Lousy nights sleep after finding out that as of 2012, Boris wants to charge me £100 a day to visit SWMBO. He wants her to fit a £1500 pound 'filter' to her car.

Gurning m**********r is off my christmas card list.

LBS still haven't sorted my CX bike (three weeks and counting) - this is getting close to naming and shaming.

My shoulders are killing me.

Generic 'Fruit and Fibre' is noe substitutes for bacons.

However, it's Friday, the weekends a-coming, the work team is chowing at the noodle bar for lunch, the weather is the hounds-underparts, I 'm probably paintballing tomorrow, and I will take one of the mountain bikes out for a spin tonight. 8)

So, I can spare a few good vibes to DDs freind. And a note - 8 weeks after smashing my shoulder riding is still problematic, it takes time. Tooo much time. Speedy recovery dude. 8)

    E-hugs V2.1 to friend

It is possible to ride with a fractured clavicle, as someone did. Bit harder to do if its the scapula.

    Meanwhile...Good Morning Freaks!

    TGIF! 8)

Stunning morning in South Wales. Very nice ride in on the NRS and as an added bonus, it didn’t fall apart and generally worked as its supposed to. Still not 100% convinced of it’s robustness at the moment. I had to fit a spacer to the drive-side BB cup to stop the crank arm touching the chainstay when I put full pressure on it. Flexi cranks are flexi… Starting to regret getting the KCNC ones now. Yes they look pimp and are stupidly light, but fitting them is/was a real pain and they do flex and fall off occasionally. They’ve also yet to prove themselves “in battle”.

Apart from that, bacon has been consumed, coffee is about to be consumed. I’ve printed off my HONC confirmation email for Sunday (had to forward it to my office address as the printer at home’s b0rked). Going to be doing a little as possible and sloping off as early as possible and find somewhere to sit in the sunshine this evening.

    Whassup maggots?

Had a good drive into the office today, if the M6, M42, M40 and M25 were any kinder to me, they would have bought me a drink!
I guess I'll get snarled up on the way home though.. Murphy's law..

Great weather here is Surrey today, sun, sun and sun!

Been off all week and just got back from skiing 8) Big fry up breakfast in half an hour in town with a mate who is 'working from home', then off to buy my kid her next bike so she can come MTB'ing with us tomorrow. Then on Monday, I'm probably going to jack my job in as i've had enough of it.

    Life's good right now :)

    Morning all,

Well, as of yesterday, I'm officially "in between careers".

A couple of weeks ago I went for an interview and got the job, but had to wait til the following Tuesday to hand in my notice as I was waiting for contracts to turn up. Last Tuesday I come into work and was about to type out my letter of resignation when I got called in to a meeting room by my boss to tell me I'm being suspended! Apparently I'd sent an email a couple of weeks ago (Motivational posters) that had made its way to 1 of our other offices and someone there had taken serious offence to them and complained. I was to be sent home and await the outcome of an investigation, but was told that the company was pushing for gross misconduct and instant dismissal for me and 5 other people for sending this mail.

I told my boss that he was going to be getting a letter from me that day any way, he was very happy to hear this, he thought this whole thing was utter BS. He was 1 of the people the company wanted to dismiss as he received the email but did not report me for it!

Spoke to HR a couiple of days later and they said they were happy for me to waive my notice period and just leave, or I could await the outcome and potentially be dismissed. Outcome of hearing was yesterday and I was told as long as I resigned before the meeting started everything would be dropped. So yesterday morning they got an email from me resigning, which meant the whole thing got dropped, I was paid up unitl yesterday, I got unused holiday pay and they would give me a good reference! What an utter pile of crap, I think it was just an easy way of reducing headcount without having to pay redundancy. 2 other people got dismissed in the end, these people would've cost the company a couple of hundredd grand to make redundent.

Turns out that it wasn't even my email that got complained about, just 1 like it! Bunch of useless wankers.

So I'm off next week, then I sart my new job, they let me start a bit earlier.

Got to go into old company today to do exit interview and stuff, could be amusing.

    Is it coffee O'clock yet?

Just eaten a dinner plate size Full breakfast bap - 4 pieces of fried pig, 3 sausage, mushrooms, 2 eggs, tomatoes and beans
Figured I've lost over a stone in prep for the HONC this Sunday, now need to " Carb up" prior to depleting multi thousands of calories on the event.

New wheelset hopefully arriving later, cutting nearly 800grms off the existing set, should help with those hilly climbs.
Did I mention its all sunny outside?
