looking after my bike

hi guys have purchased my mountain bike boardman team 2010,I love the bike way better then expected for price which was reduced,just want to know best way to clean it look after it what soap to use etc anyfing I should keep soapy water away from,they are probally stupid questions but I am new to this and loving it.just want to look after it.
