Iv got a KS I950 seatpost and recently the one bolt snapped off. Also the other bolt is bent. I need 2 new bolts and washers, but the washers are square and slightly curved, iv heard that u cant get them in any stores. Iv emails Pure racing and they said they wont have spares in for 8-10 Weeks.
Is this a warranty job as i have only had it for 3 months.
Any help on the service and parts appreciated.
Thanks

8-10 weeks is pretty pants, especially on such small items which, if necessary could be posted and land in just a few days - those timelines sound like they're waiting on shipping lead times!!
As for warranty. Depends. If you get someone on a good day, you may just get them for free - i mean, how much will a couple of bolts cost in return for a happy customer. But, on a bad day, i'd say no. Bolts etc always get over tightend (not saying you did) and can get damaged and bent, so lots of companies wouldnt entertain admitting a manufacturing fault.
Try some hardware stores - you'd be suprised what they have/can get hold of. I'd be suprised if you couldnt find them as they're nothing "technical".......if not, if you're sure you're in the right for asking for warranty - try and get a new post in place of yours??0 -
Superstar components is the UK importer.
get in touch with them. Why would I care about 150g of bike weight, I just ate 400g of cookies while reading this?0 -
With exactly the same seat post I struggle to understand how you have snapped a bolt.
I know they have to be pretty tight or i get constant groaning from the saddle rails but snapping them is something else.4 wheels bad
2 wheels good
1 wheel for fun0 -
I snapped one too. Kept on slipping so went tighter and tighter, until snap.
scrub that, I pulled the threads, not snapped. Why would I care about 150g of bike weight, I just ate 400g of cookies while reading this?0
