You could try having a look on here:

There are quite a few guys form that neck of the woods and were organising a ride up to Edmunbyers to do a very good loop around there.0 -
Cheers Dragon.
Done the Edmondbyers / Bolt's Law route last year, which is quite likely the one. Thought it was overated tbh. 'The best singletrack ever' from most accounts. It's alright.. Good ride out, and I'd do it again. But it wasn't a life changing experience.
There's got to be loads out there. Miles upon miles of barely touched land. Yet seemingly no info on the web. So I plan on doing a bit of exploring. Thanks for the link.0 -
Hamsterley????
Seriously though if you're after some routes check out the Beyond Hamsterley guide by Neil Gander

Looking for something less trail orientated than Hamsterley. Just a nice ride out.
Done Rookhope to (almost) Allenheads, via Groverake today. Too busy chillin' in the awesome weather and climbing the fells to tackle the hill down into Allenheads and back up again.
Beyond Hamsterly used to always be in the local Asda. I ummed and arred about picking up a copy everytime I went in....and then when I finally decided to buy it, they didn't have it anymore.
Picked up a couple of guides today though.0 -
I did a version of the Hamsterly Doctors Gate route the other weekend, starts in the forest then heads out to the moors. 26 miles and almost 3,000ft of climbing. For more info and video follow the link:
