...?

i want to buy something from the buy/ sell on pinkbike but im not a member.

they seem to have a stupid rule that you cant sign up using hotmail and i think the server at work must be blocking the confirmation email so i cant register

i was wondering of any of you helpful people would be kind enough to send the guy a message asking for his email so i can get in contact with him?

any help would be much appreciated!

Ben

    mrfmilo - you have PM,

CWNT, thanks for the offer! didnt see your reply 'til after i'd PM'd mrfmilo.

i tried to register and it says you cant sign up using a free email address, only ISP, work or college. seems a bit stupid to me. perhaps its something they've introduced recently?

also seems strange that i get emails to my work address offering me all sorts of 'enhancement' pills and other crap, they get through the server, but pinkbike doesn't? maybe someones trying to tell me something...

I'm signed up on pinkbike with my gmail as well, can't see that being any different to a hotmal account, unless they class gmail as a more reliable source? I do get a lot more spam on my hotmail accounts.

I joined Pinkbike recently and had to use my work e-mail address (as earlier mentioned) to sign-up, but then when I became a member it allowed me to change my e-mail address to my personal, hotmail one.

Strange but it worked (and still works).

maybe its to reduce spam on the forum or something. anyone can make a new hotmail address, sign up and abuse people. if you have to use a work address or one from your ISP, then i guess its only genuine people that will bother signing up.

Must be some kind of new measure they have bought in to stop spam then. Might also stop the increasing number of incredibly annoying kids that will offer you a bmx, an xbox and 100 games for anything that you have for sale.
