Hi,
I bent my rear mech hanger, getting a replacement seems slow so I took the rear end apart and banged it against a flat brick with a hammer, anyone else tried this? Will it work, it looks good when back on the frame, I don't want to both putting it all back together if its not likely to be successful.
Advice/experience anyone?
Thanks

Tried it, sometimes it works, but will be weakened and bend easier. Depends on the degree of bend to start off with.
I carry a straightened one as a spare.I don't do smileys.

Buy another hanger and keep it in your bag. Carry on using your straightened one till it fails, then swap them and throw the broken one in the nearest hedge,0

Except you would never be a d1ck and just throw bits of bike into the countryside, would you?

also be careful, if it shatters or snaps and the mech goes into the wheel youll do more damage than just replacing it now
that might be just a problem on cheapo bikes, but when i worked at halfords it happened every so often and did alot of damage.0
