Out for a spin earlier today, struggling against the wind (again) got forced into a debris strewn cycle lane by an inconsiderate truck driver as i approached the lights controlled junction, indicated to turn left then heard the dreaded ....HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
Pulled onto the grass verge sure enough rear tyre flat as the old preverbial.
Set to the task of changing tube, released wheel from bike, placed it on the ground, felt in my pockets for necessary equipment...NO!!! just gone and forgot my tyre levers
After a few minutes of cursing to myself and wondering what to do.....
that skewer looks handy.....sure enough using the lever on my mavic skewer got just enough tyre over the rim to allow me to force off the rest with my thumbs.
Replaced tube, but tyre was badly split on the wall which meant i could not inflate fully as tube was protruding through, still, with just 3 miles to amble back home i took it easy. Felt a real eejit for forgetting levers but well chuffed i still managed to repair p******e
